The Thomas J. Scanlon
Irish American Law Society of Cleveland
A professional association fostering the profession of law among individuals of Irish ancestry.
On July 3, 2013, 27 Cleveland lawyers of Irish descent joined together to form the Irish American Law Society of Cleveland.
In forming the group, we were building on a tradition started by the law firm of Collins & Scanlon, which has brought visiting legal dignitaries from Ireland for St. Patrick’s Day each year since 1998 and gathered Cleveland’s legal community to welcome and honor them.
We seek to promote closer affiliations between the bench, the bar, students of law, and the community, and to further a heightened standard of legal ethics. The Society provides a forum for educational, cultural and social activities concerning Irish heritage and tradition.
